Barrow and District Horticultural Show 1988, 1990 and 1991 attract hundreds of entries
There were more than 700 entries on display at Barrow and District Horticultural Society’s 67th annual flower show in 1988, which was held in the town’s Civic Hall. Despite a windy and wet summer, entries were up by more than 200 compared with the previous year and organisers felt standards were higher than ever. “It’s probably the best standard we’ve had,” said Ron Jackson, chairman of Barrow and District Horticultural Society.
