On Monday, March 29, 2021, the Province of Saskatchewan launched a campaign titled Stick It To COVID aimed at encouraging Saskatchewan residents to get their COVID-19 vaccine when it’s their turn.
One of the most important things we can ask you to do is get vaccinated. The vaccines available are safe, effective and they will save countless lives. They are also part of our path back to normalcy. But for some, the effect of the vaccines will not come soon enough. Unless we take all of our other public health precautions seriously in the days ahead, some will not survive to see those normal days. ....

COVID-19 variants of concern likely dominant strain in Regina: SHA

Variants of concern have likely become the dominant strain of COVID-19 in Regina, according to a Saskatchewan Health Authority Medical Health Officer.
The probable dominant COVID virus circulating in our community is likely to be one of the variants of concern at this stage, Dr. Maurice Hennink said, during a press conference Friday.
Dr. Hennink said that of the COVID-19 cases recently screened for Variants of Concern, around 70 to 80 per cent are presumed to be variants.
The SHA said it has identified variants in outbreak settings, including schools and care homes. It is unclear how many presumed and confirmed variant cases are connected to outbreaks. ....
