Lt. Max Dotson was found guilty on charges including 3rd-degree assault and reckless endangerment.
Body camera footage of the incident between police and Marvin Long went viral last month. Long was unarmed and had committed no crime, he suit notes.
A Sheffield man has filed a federal lawsuit against the City of Sheffield and several law enforcement officers in connection with a 2021 encounter with police where he says he was unlawfully arrested and injured by a police dog.
The 53-year-old disabled veteran was confronted on his home’s front porch, the lawsuit says.
The lawyers claimed the footage also backs up Marvin Long’s claims he was arrested without probable cause and assaulted by officers.
