This week, GOP lawmakers overruled Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear's veto and passed a sweeping law limiting the rights of transgender youth across the state, both at school and in their personal lives.
Kentucky has become the latest state to ban puberty-blocking drugs and body-mutilating sex-change surgeries for youth younger than 18 after lawmakers overrode a veto by Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear.
The rules prohibit doctors from removing any healthy or nondiseased body tissue.

The state’s bill joins the 435 anti-transgender bills and ongoing efforts from lawmakers nationwide restricting the rights of transgender and LGBTQ+ people.
