Marion’s mayor has been banned from city hall and some of his duties have been reassigned while an investigation into a complaint filed against him moves forward.
Marion Mayor Victor Contreras says grants will bring big changes to small community.
(Marion) The city of Marion is getting some major upgrades to its infrastructure, thanks to a $9.9 million community block development grant.
Marion Mayor Victor Contreras made the announcement on Friday. Contreras says this is a major investment in the town’s water and drainage infrastructure.
“We are very glad that we were selected (by) the GLO, Government Land Office, for the Community Development Block Grant Harvey Mitigation. This is going to be life changing for the city I believe,” said Contreras.
Contreras says the nearly $10 million investment includes a number of projects within the heart of the city of Marion.
