Saying it s really needed right now based on no or little progress that we ve seen to date. of course it s not needed. this is pure gamesmanship by republican colleagues. they control the house and decided to put harry reid s compromised bill on the agenda. i assume with the expectation they will vote it down. they use this procedure that says in order for it to pass, it needs a supermajority. in other words, they wouldn t let it pass if it got a majority vote. i think the american people are going to see straight through that one. again, harry reid s proposal meets all the criteria that republicans put on the table, and now that he s got a bill that does it, it s no good. it s just like the republicans in the house said no to their own speaker, just like they said no to the mcconnell proposal, which was the republican leader in the senate. and by the way, this proposal by harry reid, it also wraps into ....
It will go down in the senate. there s two other proposals, harry reid proposal and the mcconnell proposal. we had to ask for two times to go to vote. obama wanted to get it through 2012. so did reid. i think they ve cave on that, accept the balanced budget amendment. and blame it on the tea party. i can blame this all on the tea party. bob, i actually agree with you they ll send it back to the house and the tea party won t matter anymore. that s right. they deserve credit for bringing even bringing this conversation to us. i mean, we wouldn t be i have to agree with bob. i have to agree with bob. you cannot burn down the house, because you have no where else to sleep, tea party. really? they burned the house down ....
If you regard not only any change in the law that reduces the deficit as unacceptable but any failure to change the law is also unacceptable, then it s going to be very hard to pass anything through the house other than perhaps the mcconnell plan, without the savings in it. we re hearing from harry reid using the phrase, time is of the essence, hearing that over and over again and taking us to the brink. do you get the feeling we are actually inching any closer to clenching a deal? i think the mcconnell proposal, with some savings we can all agree to, may very well end up being the package. it s very important to the president we have a 3.5, 4$4.5 trillion package. woe may not in this short time agree to more than a $5 million ....
