MCD Reunification Bill: Political slugfest over Delhi's civic body explained : #RashtraNews #MCD #Reunification #Bill #Political #slugfest #Delhis #civic #body #explained In a step towards reversing the controversial decision in 2012 to splinter Delhi’s civic body into three entities, Home Minister Amit Shah will introduce a bill to create a unified Municipal Corporation of Delhi

"The three municipal corporations in Delhi are not functioning properly due to the step-motherly behaviour of the AAP party," Amit Shah said in Rajya Sabha.

AAP Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh on Tuesday asked the Centre to rename the bill to reunify the city's three municipal corporations as the "Kejriwal-phobia" bill and alleged that it was brought by the BJP to avoid civic polls.

The Delhi Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2022 was passed in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday (March 30) via voice vote.
