McDONOUGH â Residents looking forward to the annual Geranium Festival in May will have to wait a little bit longer.
According to a social media post from festival organizers, the McDonough Lions Club, the festival has been postponed until July 31 due to COVID-19.
Lions Club officials said after discussions with city officials, they began looking at alternative dates and locations. Ultimately they decided to stay in the Square and push back the date.
âWe cannot hold the festival in the city without their approval and assistance,â Club leaders said in the post.
In January, the Lions Club began accepting vendor applications in the event they could move forward with the festival in May. Theyâre now offering those who applied to participate in the July event.
