Built in 1918, the W.P. Snyder Jr. is the last of its kind: a steam-powered sternwheeler towboat that hauled coal from the mines to the steel mills of the Monongahela and Ohio River valleys. Now a museum ship and National Historic Landmark berthed in Marietta Ohio, the Snyder's steel hull was in dire need of replacement.
