A lightning strike at an Army post in Georgia left one soldier dead and nine others injured Wednesday as a thunderstorm moved through the area, authorities said.

The soldier who died after a lightning strike at Fort Gordon was an operating room specialist participating in a training exercise.

Sgt. 1st Class Michael D. Clark and the other reservists were transferred to Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center on the base in Augusta, Ga., but Clark died from his injuries that afternoon, according to an Army statement.
