It’s the season of giving, and Thunder Bay, Ont., is seeing a number of food and clothing drives leading up to the holidays. But with the rising cost of living, these services are seeing more clients than in previous years. Here's what those at the city's free and low-cost clothing programs are noticing, and what advocates want to see done to address the root causes behind the rising numbers.

About 19,000 winter coats were donated in last year’s Spread the Warmth winter coat drive and organizers hope to see that same success again this fall.

The facility continues to offer help during the day, and a bed to sleep on. They have been operating in Thunder Bay since 2008 and their will be their eighth year of offering an overnight option to those less fortunate.

Thunder Bay, Ont., housing programs are getting more support this year thanks to an increase in provincial funding.
