UTM Recognizes Industry Partners Contributions

TWO of the country’s research universities – Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) – will be helmed by newly appointed vice-chancellors.
For a three-year period beginning Jan 1,2021, until Dec 31,2023, Prof Datuk Dr Mohd Ekhwan Toriman, 51, will head UKM while Prof Datuk Dr Ahmad Fauzi Ismail, 54, leads UTM.
The appointments were announced by Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad in a statement recently.
“I am confident that UKM will continue to thrive as one of the country’s leading universities under Prof Mohd Ekhwan who has vast administrative experience, ” she said.Prof Ahmad Fauzi, she added, would also no doubt give his best to serve UTM.
JOHOR BAHRU – A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and University of Aberystwyth (AU) and Aberystwyth Innovation and Enterprise Campus (AberInnovation) from United Kingdom (UK) on 16 December 2020.
The online signing ceremony took place in the Main Meeting Room (BMU) of UTM Johor Bahru campus with Prof. Datuk Ts. Dr. Ahmad Fauzi Ismail who is the acting Vice-Chancellor of UTM signing on behalf of the university.
Meanwhile, the co-signatory parties were the Vice-Chancellor of Aberystwyth University, Prof. Dr. Elizabeth Treasure and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AberInnovation and Enterprise Campus, Dr. Rhian Hayward.
