A woman was on Thursday, March 11, arrested for allegedly being in possession of several explosives - which were reportedly found tucked inside her handbag.
Police said the woman is Kenyan, and that she was arrested in Moyale carrying the deadly explosives which included three grenades and four teargas canisters.
The suspect was taken to court and charged with the offense, with police still trying to establish her motives.

Summary
Outbreaks of the disease in Africa are associated with periods of above-average rainfall, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO).
The projected heavy rains starting this month, present an additional danger amid fear that it could escalate outbreaks of the disease caused by a virus that infects both animals and humans and eventually results in death.
The highly infectious disease is transmitted to humans by mosquitoes or close contact with contaminated animals’ blood or organs, according to the WHO.
Even before the onset of this year’s long rains, the deadly Rift Valley Fever (RVF) is proving a menace in two pastoral counties of Isiolo and Marsabit where an outbreak has been reported. ....

Police arrest two people, recover AK47 rifle in Isiolo

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) arrested two people with an AK47 rifle and 128 rounds of ammunition in Merti, Isiolo County on Sunday night.
The two, Abdi Fatah Ibrahim and Yusuf Mohamed, were arrested while aboard a Toyota Probox by detectives who were patrolling Duma-Yamicha Road.
“Spotting two suspicious vehicles both make Toyota Probox, the joint team of officers from DCI Merti and Yamicha Police Post signaled them to stop, but instead the two vehicles sped off,” the DCI posted on its official Twitter account.
A hot pursuit therefore ensued, before the two onboard one of the vehicles with registration number KCY 576H, opened fire at the police officer. ....

ISIOLO, Kenya, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) Kenyan police said Monday they are interrogating two suspects who were arrested with two hand grenades, one AK-47 rifle and 128 rounds of ammunition in the country s Isiolo county.
The two men tried to flee after their vehicle was stopped by Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives patrolling Duma-Yamicha road, the DCI said in a statement.
Spotting two suspicious vehicles., the joint team of officers from DCI Merti and Yamicha Police Post signaled them to stop, but instead the two vehicles sped off, the statement said.
A hot pursuit followed, before two occupants in one of the cars opened fire at the officers, who shot back in self-defense. ....
