DGFT issues Trade Notice No. 17/2023, outlining the procedure for allocating export quotas for Wheat, Wheat Flour (Atta), and Maida/Semolina to Bhutan based on humanitarian and food security requests. Applications must be submitted online, meeting the minimum threshold, and adhering to specified guidelines.
Earlier, the government had put a restriction on exports of maida, semolina, wholewheat flour from August 14.
The Union Cabinet's decision 'will now allow to put a restriction on the export of Wheat Flour which will ensure a curb on rising prices of wheat flour and ensure food security of the most vulnerable sections of the society'
