Batavia church turns to Cookie Cruise to make some dough in fundraiser Saturday

BATAVIA — Batavia First Methodist Church switched from a Cookie Walk to a Cookie Cruise as a fundraiser this year due to COVID-19 and the effort seemed to pay off Saturday, a church employee said. First Methodist Children and Youth Ministry Coordinator Sandy Trimmer and her daughter, Emily, were bringing cookie orders to people who drove up to the church. The cost for a 1-pound box of cookies was $10. The church asked the congregation to bake cookies, Sandy Trimmer said.
