Article content Ten of the 28 tickets issued last year for violating COVID-19 restrictions were withdrawn or jurisdiction was lost, and only two fines have been paid in full. Five ended in convictions and the other 13 charges are awaiting a court date. The number of tickets issued in January is not yet available, but the province took the unprecedented step last week of naming three bars that were issued tickets worth $14,000 apiece for alleged violations. Mia Danakas-Weinkauf is speaking out after the encounters she had with Saskatchewan Health Authority officials, who she says gave mixed messages. “I don’t understand what we did wrong, everyone was wearing masks, we had only 75 people in here,” said Danakas-Weinkauf. “There was only three or four people at a table, and some only had two, we turned away 100 people, we even locked our doors.” ....
