well, good evening everyone. i m laura coates, and this is cnn tonight. and look, it s really happening all across this country. a missouri bill that would ban critical race theory in kindergarten through 12th grade even though it s actually not part of the grade school curriculum. that same bill requiring the program to teach american patriotism. in florida, ron desantis blocking a new advanced placement course for high school students on african american studies, saying that that course lacks educational value. last year, he also signed a bill restricting how schools can talk about race with their students. governors and legislators, mostly on the right, waging a kind of war on what they see as so-called woke curriculum. others see as the, well, telling of truth and unvarnished truth at that, of our own american history. then there s the war on woke part two. this time it s called the word police. in arkansas governor sarah huckabee sanders has banned the word latin ....
aurlette saens is in wilmington, delaware. what has the white house learned? reporter: the white house has refrained from saying much publicly about the fbi search at mar-a-lago but officials have privately started to express concerns over those classified documents that were taken by former president donald trump. now, one of the concerns that is percolating among officials is whether this type of classified information taken to that florida home, whether that might jeopardize the work of the intelligence community by putting the sources and methods that the intel community uses to try to obtain information possibly at risk. many of these documents were highly classified top secret, so there are some concerns about what kind of impacts that could have on the intelligence community going forward. intelligence officials have expressed concern about what exactly is in those documents. there are also diplomatic concerns as well as whether there would be any diplomatic fa ....
a judge in florida saying there are portions that could be unsealed and giving the doj a week to explain everything that they say needs to be kept secret. but will it be page after page of black redactions? how will we know? we don t know until we see it. that as a justice department lawyer says the affidavit contains, and i quote here, substantial grand jury information and warns releasing it could have a chilling effect on witnesses. but the judge did release several never-before-seen documents today including the motion where prosecutors argue that they needed to keep their search warrant secret because the integrity of the ongoing investigation might be compromised and evidence might be destroyed. there are some more really intriguing clues in one of those documents. more on that in just a moment. but you ve got to wonder just how much the former president actually wants the full affidavit to be released. because his lawyer sitting right there in court today did ....
