Billiard WELLSBURG — Paul “Bud” Billiard will be remembered by many Ohio Valley residents for leading the Brooke High School football team to three state championships, seven OVAC championships and 185 wins among 265 played over a 23 year period. Lawrence Wayne Sheets, 78, of North Wilkesboro, passed away, Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Sheets was born July 6, 1942, in Ashe County to Lillard Vaughn and Maurine Miller Sheets. Mr. Sheets was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Margret Carol Sheets.
