"Enhanced corrosion performance in Ti-6Al-4V alloy produced via wire-ar" by Bintao Wu, Zexi Shao et al.

In this study, the corrosion properties of Ti-6Al-4 V alloys using wire-arc Directed Energy Deposition (DED) with and without different Magnetic Arc Oscillation (MAO) patterns are comparatively evaluated. The relationship between corrosion resistance and microstructural features including grain size, geometrically necessary dislocation (GND), and grain orientation spread (GOS) of as-fabricated specimens are fully explored. The results show that magnetic arc oscillation, including liner arc oscillation and arc rotation, can enhance corrosion stability of as-fabricated Ti-6Al-4 V alloys. This enhanced corrosion stability is due to refined α grains, increased grain boundaries and enhanced dislocation density that provides more active reaction sites which, when coupled with adequate ion diffusion, expedites passive film growth on the Ti-6Al-4 V metal surface. Moreover, a transpassive film was directly observed on the Ti-6Al-4 V corrosive surface, and was confirmed to contain non-stoichiom ....

Traffickers were able to contact her by phone she was told to go to preston. she said that the young men she had met in preston was a trafficker and that he had sent a message telling her that he had lined up some cocaine on a bench and she had no choice but to take it. she said that he took a tattoo asian men who paid him to have sex with her. she then said that the young man himself then took it down a back alley and raped her. eventually she said she was allowed to return to barrow in furness. he met at the train station and he drove her home. we have seen the video footage of her walking home. she said that when she opened her door he and another man forced their way in and she was forced to have sex with them both. second microstructure in the face and told her to sort yourself out and told her to sort yourself out and they would be bad for her 2am. ten minutes later the police arrived ....

"Use of waste glass as fine aggregate in ambient cured alkali-activated" by Yuqin Qian, M. Neaz Sheikh et al.

This study investigated the feasibility of using two types of waste glass sand as fine aggregate replacement in ambient cured alkali-activated mortars (AAMs). Fly ash (FA) and ground granulated blast furnace slag were used as aluminosilicate source materials to produce the AAMs. The waste glass sand was used to replace 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% fine aggregate (by mass) in AAMs. The influences of the use of waste glass sand, for the replacement of fine aggregate, on slump flow, setting time, compressive strength, and flexural strength of ambient cured AAMs were evaluated. It was found that the slump flow and setting time of ambient cured AAMs significantly increased as the percentage of replacement of fine aggregate by waste glass sand increased. However, the compressive and flexural strengths of ambient cured AAMs decreased when 50% and over fine aggregate were replaced by waste glass sand. The ambient cured AAMs with 25% replacement of fine aggregate with waste glass sand achieved t ....

"Tungsten doping enhances the mechanical properties of FeCr2V-based med" by Yangfan Wang, Zhiyang Wang et al.

The medium entropy alloys (MEAs) composed of high-melting-point, low-activation elements often demonstrate favorable mechanical properties and reduced activation required for nuclear applications. In this work, novel low activation MEAs of FeCr2V and FeCr2VW0.1 as potential nuclear structural materials have been developed. Thermodynamic calculation was used to guide the MEA design. The materials were fabricated using arc melting and their microstructure and mechanical properties were investigated. The results show that the developed MEAs are characterized by a dual-phase microstructure consisting of both body-centered-cubic (BCC) phases. The as-fabricated FeCr2VW0.1 exhibits improved hardness (average nano-hardness 9.6 GPa) compared with FeCr2V (7.4 GPa), owing to the enhanced solid solution strengthening (SSS) and precipitation strengthening (PS). Meanwhile, after doping with W, the compressive ultimate strength and yield strength of MEAs increased by about 15.7 % and 13.7 %, respecti ....

"Microstructure and mechanical behavior of Ti—Cu alloys produced by sem" by Kaio NIITSU CAMPO, Caio Chaussê de FREITAS et al.

The mechanical properties of Ti Cu alloys processed via thixoforming were evaluated. Ti Cu (25, 27, and 29 wt.% Cu) ingots were produced via arc melting, homogenization at 950 °C for 24 h, and hot-forging at 900 °C, followed by thixoforming at a speed of 8 mm/s after isothermal heat treatment at 1035 °C for 300 s. The thixoformed alloys exhibited good mechanical strength, limited plasticity under tensile loading, and reasonable plasticity under compressive loading. The mechanical strength and plasticity decreased as the Cu content increased as a result of the increasing volume fraction of the peritectic Ti2Cu phase (transformed liquid), which exhibited a lower strength and plasticity than the α + Ti2Cu regions (transformed solid). These findings indicated that the trade-off between the mechanical properties and semisolid processability is largely governed by the Cu content. ....
