Winter storm potential in West Michigan by mid-week

Welcome back, everyone. i'm alex witt here at msnbc world headquarters. the latest tracking on hurricane jose shows the category 1 storm may not make a direct hit on the mainland, but it could still be a big storm with gusty winds and significant rainfall to portions of the east coast. but what could be a major hurricane is developing now, as tropical storm maria whose projected path at this point looks similar to hurricane irma's. forecasters think it could develop into at least a category 3 storm when it sweeps through the caribbean mid-week. it's now heading toward barbados and on track to ...
