It isn t often that our local councillors get a chance to welcome good news so it s difficult to blame them when they avail of the opportunity when it arises.
So councillors from throughout Cork formed an orderly queue at Monday s online meeting of the local authority to welcome a funding allocation of €15.8m for the provision of sustainable transport iniatives such as greenways and cycle paths across the county.
The allocations which include funding portions of €1.826m for Mallow/Kanturk, €626,000 for Fermoy and €486k for Macroom engineering areas were contained in a report presented to the Council by Director of Services Michael Lynch. ....
