Riverside homes at risk of flooding ');  '); PROPERTIES in the Henley area are at risk of flooding after prolonged heavy rain caused sections of the River Thames to swell. The Environment Agency has issued flood warnings for the town, Remenham, Shiplake, Lower Shiplake, Wargrave and Medmenham. It also says that some roads and farmland are expected to be under water, especially in the Lower Shiplake and Medmenham areas. Christmas tree shredding raises £1,000 '); A CHRISTMAS tree shredding service raised £1,000 for Henley in Bloom. Scores of residents took their trees to Mill Meadows on Saturday to be shredded by Henley Town Council’s head of parks services Karl Bishop and Deputy Mayor David Eggleton. The pair threw the trees into a mechanical chipper. Residents paid £2 each to have a tree shredded and £5 to have one collected from their home. Council gives £40,000 to charities hit by pandemic ');  '); GRANTS worth nearly £40,000 have been awarded to charities in Henley as they try to recover from the impact of the coronavirus pandemic. Henley Town Council received applications from seven charities requesting a total of  £66,194 but had a budget of less than two-thirds of that to allocate.
