The Guaranteed Income Pilot Program would give 300 Montgomery County, Maryland, households $800 a month for 24 months.

A plan that includes an $800 a month "no string attached" payment is in the works to help those Montgomery County, Maryland families and households who were already struggling before the COVID-19 pandemic made matters worse. County leaders are set to hold a Tuesday news conference introducing a bill on this effort, called the "Guaranteed Income Pilot Program."

Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved a motion authored by Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell and co-authored by Supervisor Sheila Kuehl, to create a first of its kind countywide Poverty Alleviation Policy Agenda and Guaranteed Income Pilot Program. This pilot will provide at minimum of 1000 residents up to $1,000 a month for three years.
