Four Chinese men have been arrested at an illegal mining site where lithium is sold at Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
Operatives of the mining marshals of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have arrested four Chinese nationals for illegal mining in Nasarawa State. The public relations officer of the NSCDC, Babawale Afolabi, who made this known in a statement issued on Saturday said that the four Chinese nationals were arrested at an illegal mining site where lithium is sold at Karu Local Government Area of the State.
Shadow Minister for Mining James Donald has welcomed the news of proposed amendments to the Mining Act by his counterpart Minister Muguwa Dilu. However, he has pointed out the need for further considerations before the Parliament sitting next month.
