The WhatsApp helpline will go live in March this year and will allow people to flag deepfakes by sending them to its chatbot. The chatbot will offer multilingual support in English and three regional languages - Hindi, Tamil, Telugu.

MCA says they will work closely with independent fact checking groups and industry partners to assess and verify the content, to debunk false claims and misinformation.
The helpline will be available for the public to use in March 2024.
