Dimapur, Aug. 12 (EMN): MGM College, Dimapur, celebrated its fresher’s day for the newly admitted BA and B.Com 2022 batch at the college’s auditorium on August 12. An update from the college stated that the programme began with an invocation said by Imtizulu Jamir of BA (English) 5th semester followed with ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The welcome address was delivered by Yanchopeni, assistant professor of Education department, while speech on behalf of the students was delivered by Bokato Swu, general secretary of MGM College Students’ Council. Speeches on behalf of fresher were delivered by Lucy of BA (English) 1st semester and Disha Das of B.Com 1st semester. It stated that the students of 3rd and 5th semesters welcomed and entertained the freshers with their talents in the form of songs, dances and choreography. The programme concluded with the crowning of Mr. and Miss Fresher 2022, which were conferred to Kibovi and Alovika respectively.
Dimapur, Aug. 7 (EMN): Model Christian College (MCC) celebrates its 14th annual fresher’s meet on August 6 at the college auditorium on the theme ‘Iridescence.’ Speaking on the topic ‘Chase your dreams,’ the college principal, Dr. Luke Rymbai, stressed that one should chase one’s dreams with determined action rather than merely following the rut. He encouraged students to have alternatives while chasing their dreams, stated an update from the college. He also suggested few steps towards achieving dreams and also highlighted the life story of Ann Davis and his ten points ‘Major mistakes people make when chasing dreams.’ He further reiterated that the initial step towards achieving dreams is to read, read and read. During the event, Shembo from Political Science department and Karini from English department were crowned Mr and Miss Fresher of Model Christian College 2022 respectively. The subtitle awards for best walk were awarded to Bokivi and Surenbeni, Mister and Miss Congeniality to Vielhoutso and Vudeni, and Mister and Miss Talented to Vielhoutso and Karini respectively. In a related programme, Fazl Ali College in Mokokchung organised its fresher’s day on August 6 at the college auditorium. An update from the college stated that the first session began.
