Universal Vare Charter School closed indefinitely Friday after an asbestos exposure was discovered becoming the sixth school in Philadelphia to close. Students and staff will have virtual learning for the time being. Students who have to take PSSA exams will be bussed to Universal Audenried High School on test days.
Universal Vare is the sixth school to close due to asbestos, following the C.W. Henry Elementary School, which closed on Monday.
