Huntsville airport selected as FAA drone detection, mitigation research site Updated Mar 02, 2021; Huntsville International Airport has been chosen by the Federal Aviation Administration as one of four locations across the country to serve as a test site for drone research. In making the announcement Tuesday, the airport pointed to project support from Redstone Arsenal and area universities as well as Huntsville high-tech community.
