PSEi ends sideways ahead of US economic data; peso weakens
MANILA - The main stocks index closed sideways on Monday as investors awaited new economic data from the United States while the peso weakened against the greenback. The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) rose 0.09 percent, or 6.35 percent, to 7,219.81 points. All Shares went down by 0.40 percent, or 17.88 points, to 4,430.93 points. Half of the sectoral indexes gained during the day including Property, 1.41 percent; Financials, 0.70 percent; and Mining and Oil, 0.19 percent.
