Moving together. 200 recommendations that fall under those categories? we do. the committee was established with a pretty simple goal but important goal of making congress work better for the american people 18th century institution using 20th century to solve problems. so much conflict in the institution it makes civility and collaboration difficult. so about a dozen of the recommendations that we have made have been in service of just trying to make the institution more focused on progress and less on partisan bickering. bret: congressman role call wrote it this way elsewhere on the hill tempers flared. blame how much there was left to do select committee on the modernization of congress, the word of the day was civility. you know, we are trying to get there to on this segment once a week trying to bring people together and talk about what they re working on. ....

You both work on other things. other things you are passionate about as far as legislating. but, congressman timmons, you have these 200 plus recommendations, the select committee comes to an end at the end of this congress. and then, what? you bass it on and kind of hope that they re taken seriously? we are working with speaker elect mccarthy to try to make sure that the house administration committee has a select subcommittee for modernization of congress. where we will continue the implementation efforts. i m hopeful to be a part of that endeavor. we have at love work left to do. i m mitted to it and i know chair kilmer is as well. bret: your thoughts, congressman kilmer. i think it s really important. our goal as a committee was not just to make recommendations to make change. i m conscious i m part of an institution according to recent polling less popular than headlights, colonoscopy and nickel back. ....
