Srinagar, Dec 15: People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) and an independent candidate, contesting DDC election from Bandipora-A panchayat block Thursday alleged booth capturing and bogus voting by Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party workers during the 6th phase of DDC election in Garoora village of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
The candidates alleged that Khursheed Ahmad Ganai, brother of former legislator and vice-president JKAP, Usman Majeed had captured a polling station and polled bogus votes in Garoora village that is the native village of Usman Majeed. ....

2 booked for ransacking DDC polling station in Mendhar, police say

Poonch: The Jammu and Kashmir police on Tuesday said that they have booked two persons for “destroying polling material” in Mendhar area of Poonch district during the 6th phase of DDC elections.
An official said that police station Gursai received a complaint from a presiding officer namely Mohammad Ismael of polling station Keri of DDC constituency Balakot on December 13.
As per the complaint, two persons namely Gafoor Ahmad and Wahidullah Khan, polling agents of Rabia Younis Khan and Saima Khan-both independent candidates, respectively, attacked polling staff and snatched the ballot papers in order to cast bogus votes, the official said. ....

GNS reported that Police station Gursai received an application from the presiding officer, Mohammad Ismael of polling station Keri of DDC constituency Balakote, marked by SSP Poonch, that on December 13 at GHS Keri two persons, Gafoor Ahmad, an agent of Rabia Younis Khan and Wahidullha Khan, a polling agent of Saima Khan (independent candidates), attacked on the polling staff and snatched the ballot papers in order to cast “bogus votes”. They were also accused of tearing out the ballot paper and other polling material.
After doing this, the official said that the duo fled from the spot. In this connection, a case (FIR no 94/2020) under section 132,135,136 Representation of People’s Act and Section 342, 353, 323, 504 IPC has been registered. ....
