ISLAMABAD: The capital police have ordered an inquiry into a scuffle that broke out between two police officials and an army man at a picket on Monday evening.

Dawn that an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of the capital police and an official of the traffic police have been suspended over the incident.
They said a car reached the picket on the road to Dama-i-Koh before Iftar on Monday. The police officials told occupants of the car that restrictions had been imposed on visiting tourist spots to prevent the spread of Covid-19. ....

JIT confirms Osama Satti was murdered by policemen - Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: A Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has confirmed that Osama Nadeem Satti, 21, was murdered by officials of the capital police on Jan 2 this year.
Senior officers of the police told Dawn on condition of anonymity that the JIT probed the incident and found that the youth was murdered by officials of the Crisis Response Team (CRT) of the Anti-Terrorism Squad of the police.
The CRT team, comprising five policemen including a driver, fired at the car of Mr Satti with intention to kill the driver instead of neutralising him, they said. ....

Islamabad: Reshuffling continued in police department at different levels, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad has repositioned eight police officers of grade-18 and 17.
According to the notification issued from the office of IGP, SP Industrial Area Zone, Zubair Sheikh has been transferred to Anti-Riot Unit (ARU) to command the force, SP Abdur Razzaque has been transferred from Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) to SP (SSG), while, SP Arshad Mehmood has been appointed as SP Investigation, replacing SP CID (CTD) Malik Naeem Iqbal who has been transferred as SP DPD.
The IGP appointed SP Captain (r) Hamzah Hamayun as SP (Traffic) who was awaiting for posting. SP Mohammad Usman Tipu, SP DPD, has transferred to CPO as AIG/Operations, while SSP Khalid Rashid who was awaiting posting, has been appointed as SSP (Law & Order). In another notification, ASP Usman Munir, who was awaiting for posting, has been appointed as SDPO Ramna. ....
