Members of County Assembly have put the Nairobi Metropolitan Service (NMS) on notice over failure to submit quarterly reports over the expenditure of funds allocated by City Hall for the past nine months.
The assembly now wants the Mohammed Badi-led institution to appear before different house committees to answer questions regarding the expenditure of funds as required by law.
Nairobi County Assembly Budget and Appropriation committee chairperson Robert Mbatia said with already nine months into the current financial year ending June 30, 2021, NMS is yet to submit quarterly budgetary reports in line with provisions of the Deed of Transfer of Functions and the County Allocation of Revenue Act (CARA).

Late Garissa Senator Yussuf Haji
First Avenue lane in Eastleigh Nairobi will in the next two weeks be renamed to Yussuf Haji road in honour of the late Garissa Senator.
This is after the Nairobi County Assembly on Tuesday approved a motion calling on the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) and City Hall to work together to name or rename a road in the capital after the late Senator Haji in recognition of his efforts in public service during his 55 years of service to the Nation.
The motion by majority leader Abdi Guyo was given the nod by the assembly even as the MCAs described Haji as a firm, knowledgeable, humble but efficient leader who dedicated his life to public service and one whose name should be firmly etched in the annals of Kenyan history.

Nairobi county assembly has approved Anne Kananu's nomination as deputy governor following successful vetting earlier in the day.
She is set to be sworn in at the KICC. This comes as activist Okiya Omtatah filed a notice to appeal the decision okaying the vetting of Anne Kananu as another petitioner filed a complaint against Justice Anthony Mrima.
The MCAs, when debating on her suitability to hold the post, said Kananu has proven integrity seeing as her three years at the county’s Disaster and Emergency Management as well as the Water dockets have not been marred by queries.
