Inna Galadima of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has become the first elected female local government council chairperson in Borno State, Northeast Nigeria. Galadima was elected chairperson of Here Local Government Council on the platform of the ruling APC. The Returning Officer for Here Local Government Area, Prof. Mohammed Konto declared her the winner after polling 110,459 votes to defeat her rival, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who received 2,478 votes.
