Minister for Infrastructure Development Sen. Norland Cox has confirmed that work is soon to commence on the western corridor inclusive of the Molinere land slippage, which has been declared a sub-national disaster for over a year. The Western Main Road project, he indicated is a twenty-six-kilometer (26km) road project that stretches from the Kirani James Athletic Stadium to the St. Mark’s Secondary School.
He noted that sometime after the planning of that project, the Moliniere slippage occurred bringing a significant financial cost that was not contemplated from the initial planning and therefore government has to fill that gap.
