Health bosses have issued an urgent plea to Moray residents to self-isolate if they have Covid symptoms amid concerns about rule breakers.
Concerns have been raised people are continuing to visit other households despite displaying signs or the virus or being identified as a close contact of someone who has tested positive.
The sharp rise has put in doubt the region moving to Level 2 restrictions with the rest of the country later this month.

HEALTH chiefs have warned of a deteriorating situation in Moray amid reports that some people are failing to self-isolate and breaching rules on indoor gatherings.
The region currently has the worst Covid rate in Scotland amid a recent surge in cases, and there are growing fears that it may be left behind when the rest of the country unlocks into Level Two restrictions later this month.
The latest figures show that prevalence of the virus in Moray has climbed to 81.4 cases per 100,000, compared to just 11 per 100,000 in neighbouring Aberdeenshire and Highland.

Covid surge in Scots town may lead to May Day "perfect storm"
Health bosses warned of a “perfect storm” which could be fuelled by the easing of lockdown as Covid cases surged in Moray ahead of the May Day weekend.
The majority of cases have been detected in Elgin and the area currently has one of the highest rates of Covid-19 in the country.
Residents have been urged to act responsibly and take up asymptomatic testing to ward off a further spread of infections.
Susan Webb, NHS Grampian’s public health director, said: “We really are on a worrying trajectory in Moray and it is vital everyone ensures they are sticking to the rules to ensure the area isn’t left behind as the rest of the country unlocks.
