Thieves strike at La Brea Baptist church by   Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing a break-in and lar­ce­ny at the Mount Mer­chard­ec Spir­i­tu­al Bap­tist Church at Vance Riv­er Main Road in La Brea. 74-year-old Ce­celia Eti­enne, of Vance Riv­er Main Road, La Brea, told po­lice she se­cured the church around 4 pm on May 24th. How­ev­er, when she re­turned around 1 pm on Sun­day May 30th, she dis­cov­ered that sev­er­al items were miss­ing—a DVD play­er, an am­pli­fi­er, an equal­iz­er, a gas tank, and a bag of cur­tains.
