The Department of Transportation faces multiple challenges in privatizing the P551-million EDSA Busway, ranging from searching for a competent operator to property sharing with the Metro Rail Transit Line 3, according to industry experts.

The Department of Transportation announced that the operating hours of the MRT-3 will be shortened on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
"In terms of overhauling of the train cars, there are only around three more that needs to be finished, and we are looking at completing all 72 by December, ahead of almost five months from our target May 2023 completion," Canar said.
The Metro Rail Transit-3 has received a fresh supply of electrical components for the train sets and depot.
