Despite warnings, people continue to stop their cars on Atal Setu; Navi Mumbai police reacts

Passengers continue to treat Atal Setu, the longest sea bridge in India, as a picnic spot, stopping to take pictures and even venturing into restricted areas. Navi Mumbai Police has received a video of this incident and has forwarded it to the concerned Traffic Branch. Mumbai Police has issued a warning on social media, stating that it is illegal to stop on the bridge and take photos. The bridge, built at a cost of Rs 17,840 crore, aims to provide faster connectivity to Mumbai and Navi Mumbai airports and reduce travel time to Pune, Goa, and South India.

The Atal Setu, India s longest sea bridge, has seen nearly 80,000 vehicles pass through since its opening. However, motorists stopping for selfies, venturing into restricted areas, and flouting rules have raised concerns among netizens. Mumbai police issued a warning against illegal stopping and photography on the bridge. On the first day, 24,083 vehicles crossed, and the number increased to 55,367 on the second day.
