With Black Is Back collecting the lead just before the opening panel, Iluvtomakemoney was sick of second place and went up and retake the lead, using fractions of :29, :59.1 and 1:27.3. Turning for home, Iluvtomakemoney was determined to stay on top and used a :28.1 last panel to seal the win over Black Is Back while Daylight Rush rushed in for third. ....

The last time Black Is Back had a photo opportunity was on Nov. 28, 2020 when he won the $8,500 Open I Pace at Batavia Downs. Last week, Black Is Back suffered a tough three-quarter loss to Mr Ham Sandwich but was able to turn the tables on him this time around. Taking control from the start, Black Is Back posted splits of :29, :57.2 and 1:26.2 over the fast track. Things got interesting in the stretch drive with Mr Ham Sandwich taking dead aim on the leader, but Black Is Back gutted it out to hit the wire first. Endeavors Pride took the show position. ....
