The generators were destroyed by the tornado that came through so the victims had no chance of survival. luckily, no other patients were killed and no staff were killed. they were able to evacuate all of the patients from that hospital in less than two hours. a remarkable challenge by the staff there at that hospital. now, the national weather service, alex, says that the tornado that struck here was an ef-5, that's the highest on the scale. winds with more than 200 miles an hour. and they say that it was a multivortex tornado, which means that there were spinning tornadoes around the main fun...

Good morning, everyone. i'm alex witt. welcome to msnbc saturday. a deadly storm system continued to slam the south overnight. and is threatening more tornadoes on the east coast today. this is new footage of a twister in alabama where seven people have died. one man was killed when his mobile home was launched nearly a quarter mile. storm chasers also caught this tornado in mississippi. that one tore roofs off building and sent seven to the hospital. so far, the severe weather has killed 16 people since thursday in arkansas, oklahoma and alabama. and the weather channel's eric fisher has more...
