MUMBAI: Mumbai reported 7,214 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, taking its tally to 5,93,906, while 35 patients succumbed to the infection, the city civic body said.
With 7,214 more infections, the Covid-19 caseload jumped to 5,93,906, while the death toll increased to 12,439, according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) updated data.
Mumbai has reported about 170 less new cases and 22 fewer deaths compared to Monday.
The previous day, the city had reported 7,381 new cases and 57 deaths.
According to the data, the number of Covid-19 tests done so far crossed the 50-lakh mark and reached 50,27,882 after 45,350 samples were examined in the last 24 hours.

MUMBAI: Mumbai reported 7,381 new Covid-19 cases and 57 fresh fatalities on Monday, the city civic body said.
With the new cases and fatalities, the Covid-19 infection count jumped to 5,86,692, while the death toll rose to 12,404, according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) updated data.
The financial capital has reported nearly 1,100 less cases compared to Sunday, but the fatalities went up by four.
On Sunday, Mumbai had reported 8,479 cases and 53 fatalities.
Also, 8,583 patients were discharged from hospitals during the day, pushing the tally of recovered cases to 4,86,622, the data showed.

Patients shifted as Mumbai hospital faces oxygen shortage | Mumbai News

MUMBAI: As oxygen shortage hit a civic hospital on Friday, 46 Covid positive patients had to be shifted out of Bhagwati Hospital, Borivali to three other municipal facilities.
Civic authorities said that the hospital didn’t get its regular fill of oxygen on time and hence moved out the patients before the stocks fully ran out.
Of the 45 patients, 25 were moved to the Dahisar jumbo hospital, 10 to Bal Thackeray Trauma Hospital in Jogeshwari and 11 to Babasaheb Ambedkar hospital in Kandivli. Dr P Jadhav, chief superintendent of peripheral hospitals, confirmed that the patients had to be shifted on account of oxygen shortage.

Mumbai: In view of the rising number of coronavirus cases in the city, the renowned
Jaslok Hospital has now been fully converted into a COVID-19 facility, the
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (
BMC) informed on Thursday.
"The occupancy of beds in available DCH hospitals, especially in private hospitals, being very high, it is necessary to increase the number of beds with advanced critical care in
Mumbai. Jaslok Hospital has served as a DCH hospital with advanced critical care since the beginning of the pandemic and has been rendering excellent services to admitted COVID-19 patients," the BMC stated.

Rajesh Tope has stated that the price of anti-viral drug
Remdesivir, which is also used in the treatment of COVID-19, should be reduced to Rs 1,200-Rs 1,300. He also said that the companies manufacturing the anti-viral drug should double the production.
The Minister said that companies that produce Remdesivir should also double their production.
Speaking to the media he said, "Companies manufacturing anti-viral drug Remdesivir should double the production and decrease its Maximum Retail Price (MRPs) to Rs 1200- Rs1300."
Remdisivir is reportedly being sold between Rs 2,400-6,000. The injection is being sold in black market at even higher prices.
