A man pleaded guilty Monday to a deadly hit-and-run crash that killed a man walking along an Upstate highway.

A Greenville admitted in court he was high on drugs when he caused a major crash on I-85 that involved several cars and left a man dead, court officials said.

A Spartanburg man received a 30-year prison sentence Friday for a daylong crime spree that included armed robbery, kidnapping and criminal sexual conduct. Jamal R. Smith, 21, pleaded guilty to numerous charges that included 3 counts of armed robbery, 3 counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, first-degree burglary and multiple weapons charges. Two of the pleas – failure to stop for a blue light and siren and possession of a stolen vehicle – involved unrelated cases, according to Murray Glenn, spokesperson for the 7th District Solicitor's Office.

The final chapter of an Upstate man's daylong crime spree came to an end Friday.

An Upstate man was sentenced to decades in prison Thursday for sex crimes involving a child, according to the Seventh Circuit Court Solicitor's Office.
