TWINNING between Greystones and Holyhead is now in its eleventh year and a delegation from Greystones travelled to the Holyhead Festival in late July and thanked the local representatives for showing them around Anglesey.
A member of Greystones Municipal District left last Tuesday evening's (15th) meeting in protest after a motion was passed to build 41 social housing units on lands beside Burnaby Lawns. Cllr Tom Fortune, who voted against the motion along with Cllr Mags Crean, said it was 'quite disgusting', and told the Cathaoirleach, Derek Mitchell, he 'hadn't a bull's notion'. Around 50 residents of Burnaby Lawns were outside the council building opposing the development.
