Amid the Martian-like landscapes of Mleiha, adventurous travellers will soon find Sharjah s newest eco-friendly resort: the Moon Retreat.
The family-friendly destination is set to welcome overnight guests within the first three months of 2021.
When it opens, it will feature 10 single-bed domes, four family tents and two single-bed tents, each of which will be fitted with modern amenities. Most will also feature private pools, and guests will be able to pre-order ready-to-grill meals, which can be cooked on their private barbecues.
The property, which is being developed by Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), will also feature a reception and community area boasting a bonfire and barbecue experience where guests can mingle.

While all eyes have been on the UAE’s successful mission to Mars recently, there’s a new out-of-this-world experience available closer to home. The Moon Retreat will soon open in Sharjah, bringing a luxury glamping site to the Martian-like landscapes of Mleiha.
When it opens in the first quarter of 2021, the family-friendly Moon Retreat will be home to 10 single-bed domes, four family tents and two single-bed tents. Each of these lodgings is kitted out with all the amenities you could need for a comfortable stay – and most of the domes and tents will also feature private pools.
The construction of the luxury retreat is 75 per cent complete

The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) is set to welcome guests to its fourth eco-luxury destination ‘Moon Retreat’, the construction of which is 75 per cent complete.
The luxury retreat will form part of Shurooq’s Sharjah Collection brand, managed by Mysk by Shaza, and will entertain overnight guests – desert adventurers and glampers alike – from around the world in Q1 this year.
Guests will be advised on hiking route trails to allow them to create their own journeys of discovery
Designed to offer guests an authentic camping atmosphere with modern comforts, Moon Retreat will also extend stargazing opportunities, due to sparing pollution in the Mleiha desert. This will be Shurooq’s second boutique hospitality offering in the Mleiha region, the first one being Mysk Al Faya Retreat.
