Our ReporterDimapur, Nov. 19 (EMN): Living for Environment (LiFE) organised its annual event ‘Feast of LiFE’ at Orchid Ground in Burma Camp, Dimapur, on November 19 on the theme ‘Celebrating life with the less fortunate and underprivileged.’ The programme coordinator and IT officer of LiFE, Balthazar Thong mentioned that ‘Feast of LiFE’ is a day to celebrate life with the less fortunate and underprivileged. He informed that they have targeted the non-indigenous habitants of Naga Colony residing near the dumpsite this year. He added that last year, the event was held at Neighbourhood Children Home, Dimapur. Thong stated that the primary goal of LiFE was to find a balance which is sustainable living. He added that they were trying to make people aware on the different challenges when it comes to living in an environment before it got worse. Our Reporter Dimapur, Sep. 30 (EMN): Two accused persons who were arrested on September 26 in connection with the child kidnapping case were sent to judicial custody on Friday. The Dimapur police informed that the two accused, residents of Lahorijan in Assam, were apprehended on September 26 from Naga United North Block (UNB) in Naga Colony, Burma Camp, Dimapur, after allegedly attempting to kidnap a two-and-a-half-year-old child on the same day. The locals along with police personnel caught the duo after an alarm was raised following the attempt to kidnap the child, it was informed. The accused persons, who were in police remand for five days for interrogation, have not confessed to the crime, said the police, adding that they would write to the court to record consensus statements. The city police informed that around 9-10 witnesses have already testified about the incident.
