Wayne county treasurer's office call center re-opens Tuesday

The Wayne County Treasurer's office last week significantly scaled back operations at its call center due to staffing shortages related to COVID-19. The center is expected to open today with additional staffing, but the shortage comes as people with back taxes work to get onto payment plans and avoid foreclosure ahead of a May 14 deadline.  Wayne County Treasurer Eric Sabree said the county plans to fully  staff the center with non-call center staff including Sabree himself starting Tuesday. The office is working to find a company to staff the center but it's unclear when that will happ...
