Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], April 5 (ANI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah, accompanied by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, on Monday afternoon met the soldiers injured in the Bijapur Naxal attack at the Narayana Superspeciality Hospital here.
Earlier in the day, Shah and Baghel laid wreaths on the coffins of 14 security personnel killed in the attack here.
"I held a review meeting with Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel and officers of security forces. The officers said that this fight should not weaken, which shows that the morale of our jawans is intact," said the Home Minister while speaking to reporters after his meeting with Baghel.

Jammu's hospitals struggle with the surge in COVID-19 cases

The Government Medical College—a premier hospital that caters to the whole of the Jammu division of Jammu and Kashmir—has been in disarray for the last few months. The hospital, located in Jammu city, has had severe deficiencies in infrastructure and manpower shortages even as COVID-19 cases in the division, which comprises ten districts, surged in September. The situation at the GMC is a reflection of the UT administration’s lack of preparedness for the novel coronavirus pandemic.
According to official data, 35,246 people were infected and 457 people had died of COVID-19 in the Jammu division till 18 October. Of these, 26,710 cases and 394 deaths had occurred since the beginning of September. The region witnessed this sharp rise in infections after the UT’s lockdown was lifted in August and the surge left ill-equipped and understaffed government hospitals buckling under the patient load. For instance, many smaller hospitals have been unable to install ventilators. The GMC itself has had to deal with staff falling ill with the disease, doctors reluctant to treat COVID-19 patients, bureaucratic interference, inadequate oxygen storage and disruption in oxygen supply.

JAMMU, Aug 13: The selective treatment is allegedly being given to COVID-19 positive patients in Jammu by the J&K administration. While VIPs contracted with the Coronavirus are being sent to private hospitals like Narayana Superspeciality Hospital in Katra or ASCOMS & Hospital Sidhra, other COVID positive people are being kept in CD Hospital, Psychiatric Hospital or Yatri Bhawan, which lack proper facilities and are stinking with insanitary condition.

Halted by sealed Delhi-Gurgaon border: Doctors, health staff, crucial surgeries

Malhotra said even patients are in trouble as many cross the border for treatment. “I have a Gurgaon-based patient who got operated on for breast cancer. Now she needs post-surgery radiation. I asked her to get it done at a hospital in Gurgaon, but it turns out that a lot of its staffers live in Delhi, so her post-surgery radiation has not been scheduled.”
At 7.30 am Friday, Dr R K Agarwal (58), senior consultant, anesthesia, at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, left his Gurgaon residence for work and reached in no time. On his way back in the afternoon though, he found himself pleading with police. “I work in a COVID hospital and, as an anesthetist, I work with ventilators, which are crucial right now. I showed the police personnel my ID card, a letter from the hospital saying this a COVID hospital, but he just didn’t listen. I felt humiliated. The AC in my car too wasn’t working and I told the policemen that I am tired, I am ageing and that they should let me go. I left the hospital at 1.30 pm and finally reached home at 4.45 pm,” said Agarwal. He said he is “fearful of going to work in the coming days”.

As many people are working from home during the COVID-19 lockdown without a proper desk, they could be sitting in the wrong posture for hours which can lead to pain in the neck and lower back. Health experts have suggested that simple tips like not taking their laptop to bed, taking adequate breaks and having a healthy diet can help you avoid these problems.
People should be extra careful not to fall sick during this period as the work from home mode and closure of gyms have disrupted physical activity schedules of many, the experts said.
