The action came following a complaint by a man from whose account Rs 10 lakh was fraudulently withdrawn.
A syndicate, based in Jharkhand's Jamtara, defrauding gullible bank customers by pretending to be staff of a prominent bank has been busted by the Delhi Police with the arrest of six of its members and nearly 22,000 SIM cards recovered.
5 men were arrested from Jamtara in Jharkhand for allegedly duping more than 2,500 people by posing as customer care executives.
Police said that the accused were posing as customer care of many reputed banks and online shopping sites on Google. Officials said that they recovered 12,500 pre-activated SIM cards provided to fraudsters in Jamtara from Murshidabad for over a year.
