CHENNAI: A maturing ecosystem and tailwinds on the digital front due to Covid have expanded the ‘deep technology’ component of the Indian startup ecosystem. Deep tech includes the use of emerging and new-age tech such as AI, machine learning (ML), augmented & virtual reality, blockchain, robotics and 3D printing.
At 19%, now nearly one in five tech startups are leveraging deep-tech solutions for their businesses. The pool of deep-tech ventures is expanding at a five-year compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 41% faster than the overall ecosystem, a study said. ....

Partners with Telangana Artificial Intelligence Mission; floats innovation challenge to develop solutions
The National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) has tied up with Telangana Artificial Intelligence Mission (T-AIM) to launch an Innovation Factory to identify and promote innovative artificial intelligence solutions to address challenges in agricultural sector.
They have announced an ‘innovation challenge’ for start-ups, inviting ideas that can make the lives of farmers easier by helping them increase incomes.
The winner will get a chance to win a prize money of ₹1 lakh, while the runner-up will get ₹50,000. ....

Nasscom, T-AIM challenge scouts for AI-based solutions for agriculture

A release from Nasscom on Friday said the contest, initiated with an intent of sourcing best in class AI solutions in agritech, is open for start-ups, companies and institutions operating within India.
A challenge called Innovation Factory to identify innovative Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions for agriculture has been launched by IT industry body Nasscom in collaboration with Telangana AI Mission (T-AIM).
It is an opportunity for innovators to assist Telangana government in helping farmers increase their income by devising AI-based solutions in three selected use-cases. They are: precision farming for improving yields; real-time price discovery and volume management and e-marketplaces; and farmer lending using farm/output-backed credit risk assessment. ....
